Soprano saxophone is a hard instrument to pick favorites because no one is really a soprano player, they are all other saxophonists that also play soprano. But saxophonists that have great sounds on soprano:
Definitely Brandford and Josh Redman, what's wrong with you?! =P. I love Branford's sound on soprano, just dig it! I agree with you on Liebman. Another soprano player I'm fond of is by the name of Igor Butman. I think he's more into legit stuff, but his tone and sound to me are supreme. _________________ JP

I don't really have a Soprano Favorite. I don't listen to any Sop on purpose unless it is part of another sax players doubles. I probably should, but so many guys play it so out of tune - even great players.
Soprano can tend to be out of tune, but more than that, a lot of people just don't know how to play soprano stylistically. It is different than alto, tenor, or bari. You have to approach soloing on it that way. Who wants to hear a solo in the top of the soprano's range? Who wants to hear a tenor solo at the bottom of its range?
