I play Yamahas and think I pretty much have my dream saxes. If I was to be rich and buy some side horns I would probably try some different materials that Yamaha does not use like sterling silver Yanagisawa'a or GB Copper Alto, GB Nickel Silver Tenor with Gold neck, Mauriat Nickel Silver tenor, Keilwerth Nickel Silver Tenor - just to name a few.

My dream sax; a sax that has a fluid action, perfect intonation, and effortless ranges. Regardless of what it was, as long as it had those things.

The odds of me finding one? Pretty slim; even the best Mark VI's have intonation issues, so I'd say that definitely is a dream. The Mark VI tenor I played, I definitely would have walked home with, but it belonged to a 6th grader and I wouldn't have wanted to upset him (LOL). The action was like robotic, I swear. I didn't have a tuner to test intonation so I can't vouch on that one, but to my ear it sounded fine. The ranges on this horn were effortless. There was only one flaw; a leak in the LOW Bb, so it's not that big of a deal.

My dream sax is what I have. Except, for soprano and bari, I would have something different. Like Yamaha 62's in both cases.

Other than that, I wouldn't change what I have. And I wouldn't change what I have for any reason other than getting 62s

I would probably have to go with a black and/or silver curved soprano, mainly because the shape alone looks sweet...

Brand-wise, I'm probably thinking a Yani, maybe a Cannonball because of the semi-precious stones...

...but keeping with the theme of a "dream," I definitely would want an aulochrome...
