the trouble with bass is that it doesn't feel very portable. it would be nice to just have a bass and a usable amp that could fit in my pocket.

anyone got n e suggestions for having a more portable setup for bass that is suitable for real gigs?

does this exist?

yeh, there's something made by Ashbory (?) that i've seen. it's a small fretless bass that they make- and it cant be any more than 3 feet long. i believe the company is owned by fender- and its a somewhat popular thing- i think they go for less than 500 bucks. ofcourse, playing a fretless, what better cab can you have than an amp that stands less than 2 ft. tall and packs a punch- go find an Acoustic Image cab and head- they're REALLY expensive, but holy crap, they do the job. the secret is apparently a speaker aimed at the floor that pushes out some seriously low end. some friends of mine use these for smaller shows- but these things can still pack up to 800w from what i hear. worth a try?
